Psychotherapy & Counsellimg at the Healing Studio with Bridget Christiana Seager

Bridget Christiana Seager

Integrative and Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Counsellor

I am the Director of the Healing Studio and I work with individuals, couples and families across a range of issues. My approach as a counsellor and psychotherapist is integrative and transpersonal.  I am aware of the uniqueness of each individual and draw on many different modalities in my work which can incorporate the use of symbolism, visualisation, creativity and dream work.

This pages is intended to give you some information about me and how I work; my experience of some of the issues in which psychotherapy and counselling can help and about one-one sessions at the Healing Studio.

About Me

In working with others, there is no substitute for having experienced similar life situations...

Having had the privilege of experiencing a wonderfully rich, full and varied life, it was as result of my brief acting career in that I was brought into psychotherapy.  I was always searching for the meaning and purpose of life and subsequently at a very young age I started to travel the globe, tasting, sampling, looking, experiencing and… getting very lost indeed.  "Why didn't my parents give me a tool kit for doing life?," I used to think! You are taught many facts and figures at school, but no-one actually teaches you how to live life.

After a period, which culminated in my early thirties, with a feeling of "complete disillusionment" , and my feeling of being "at rock bottom", I decided to acquire the right tools for life. At last I realised that rather than going into myself and experiencing the harmony of my essential being, I was being pushed outside by the distractions of hedonism which prevented me from living in the present and thus from finding contentment.  The seventeenth-century French Mathematician and Philosopher Pascal wrote that 'the sole cause of man's unhappiness is that he does not know how to stay quietly in his own room.'  So I had to quit globe trotting and for the first time in my life face the very things I had been running away from, i.e. feelings and emotions and as Pascal wrote, had to 'sit in my own room!' Whilst  studying drama, I discovered that I couldn't access my feelings. At the same time I was also working in in the voluntary sector, helping other people,  and learned the benefits of first drama therapy and then psycho-drama. This discovery led me on the road to a new career in psychotherapy.

I continued to dig deeper in my search to understand life and as a result I developed the understanding and skills that I now use in all my work as a Psychotherapist.

For many years it has been my dream to set up a therapy centre and after working with clients for some 15 years  I am still very passionate about what I do!

One-One Therapy Sessions

An initial therapy session would involve a visit to my practice at the Healing Studio in Central Twickenham, where I would take a detailed history and assess the kind of support you require. If you have any questions I would be happy to discuss them prior to making an appointment.

We would begin with a single 50 minute assessment session. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your reasons for coming and the outcome you are seeking, and to assess whether psychotherapy or couselling would be appropriate for you.

Therapy sessions are usually on a weekly basis and the amount of time you spend in therapy will vary for each individual.

All one to one therapy sessions are 50 minutes and the fees are variable, depending on circumstances.

It is important to be aware that forty eight hours notice of cancellation is required, otherwise the full fee will be charged.

Please contact me for any further details or to book an initial, no obligation, appointment>>
